This fall, we invite you to come together for ONPHA’s first-ever virtual Conference. 2020 has been a difficult year thus far, requiring from all of us a great deal of ingenuity and adaption. We’re excited to be able to gather together in a virtual space to celebrate our sector’s strength, resiliency and its necessity in the current climate.
‘Our Future is Now’ is more than a Conference theme, it’s a call to action. It’s a reminder to our members, our corporate and community partners, and to all levels of government that the work we do is essential. As we look at the ways the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the gaps in our society’s social safety net, including the lack of affordable housing in Ontario, it confirms what we have long known to be true: a vibrant, innovative, sustainable community housing sector is necessary for the health of Ontario’s communities.
This year’s programming will help us frame the challenges that our sector is facing and how we fit into society’s larger context. From examining the future of housing in a post-COVID world to in-depth discussion on equity in housing, our sessions and speakers will broaden our focus and encourage us to view issues from national and international perspectives. Our new platform will allow us to reach a wider audience as we continue to explore the larger themes of best practice, sector transformation and achieving sector excellence.
As we adjust to the challenges this year has brought us, we can look with pride upon what we’ve accomplished so far. ONPHA has been able to offer resources, updates and support to our members through these unprecedented times. Our members’ engagement has allowed us, as an organization and a community, to adapt to these challenging circumstances. Our unity is key to working with all levels of government to ensure the future of our sector.
We look forward to welcoming you online this fall for a day of learning, sharing and virtual networking. Our Future is Now! Let’s get ready!
