Bylaw voting: July 2020

At ONPHA’s 2019 Annual General Meeting, ONPHA members voted to allow for virtual voting. In line with this, ONPHA is holding a vote on proposed changes to ONPHA by-law #12. The proposed changes would aim to:

  • include electronic means of attendance in addition to in-person attendance for quorum in meetings of the membership. Sections 5.7 and 15.1
  • guarantee a democratic vote on the board and to ensure that its composition remains reflective of ONPHA’s strategic priority at any point in time, Section 6.3
  • include language on conflict of interest. Section 8.

Voting Virtually

ONPHA has engaged Simply Voting, an online voting platform, to facilitate the by-law vote. Simply Voting is used by over 2,000 organizations from 58 countries to conduct fair and easy virtual elections.

Voters will receive an e-mail invitation from Simply Voting on Monday, July 13 containing all the necessary details needed to sign-up for online voting on the by-law, which will take place exclusively on Simply Voting.

Once a ballot has been submitted, the results are encrypted and stored in a database. Your Elector ID is then flagged as "voted" and will not be eligible to vote on this ballot again.

Voting Dates

Voting on the proposed changes to ONPHA by-law #12 will be open for 12 days, from Monday, July 13 at 8:00 a.m. to Friday, July 24 at 11:59 p.m.

Results from the by-law ratification should be announced in late July.
