Available awards and scholarships:
Recognizes providers that respond to community needs with imagination and insight. These organizations go beyond their housing mandates, building strong communities and partnerships.
Recognizes a non-profit housing provider that has developed an innovative response to an environmental, operational or community challenge.
Recognizes an individual whose energy and vision have furthered the cause of non-profit housing in Ontario.
Recognizes a young professional who has demonstrated a commitment to creating positive change in the non-profit housing sector in Ontario.
Honours a tenant or tenant group who helps make their non-profit housing community and neighbourhood a better place to live.
Recognizes the people who have dedicated their careers and talents to Ontario’s non-profit housing sector.
Every year, we support Indigenous students living in non-profit housing in Ontario with $2,000 for use towards their post-secondary education costs.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I nominate someone for an award?
Nominations for the ONPHA Awards open in late winter/early spring. Members can submit a nomination online or submit a nomination form via email to awards@onpha.org.
Who selects the winners?
Winners are selected by the ONPHA Awards Committee, a panel of ONPHA members appointed by our Board of Directors. The committee judges nominees according to the eligibility criteria and the information received in the nomination package.
The committee reserves the right to withhold selection for an award if candidates do not demonstrate a high calibre of excellence.
When will I know who won?
Nominators will be notified of the status of their submission in the summer. Winners are recognized and announced publicly at our annual Conference.
What happens if my nominee wins?
Nominators will be asked to provide supplementary materials (photos, videos, etc.) to help us recognize the winners.
When are winners announced?
Winners will be announced at that year’s ONPHA Conference.
What do winners receive?
Winners will receive a tribute video, a plaque, a digital badge, and recognition throughout ONPHA’s channels.
