New ONPHA research: Help shape scalable solutions for community housing development

April 22, 2025

ONPHA is excited to announce the launch of a new research initiative aimed at enhancing the efficiency and scalability of community housing development across Ontario—and we want to hear from you.

As the demand for affordable housing continues to rise, non-profit housing providers face growing pressure to deliver more homes faster and with fewer resources.

In response, ONPHA is partnering with StrategyCorp to explore and evaluate practical strategies that can help providers meet these challenges. At the same time, we are laying the groundwork for a larger-scale research effort to expand our overall research capacity and better serve the sector’s evolving needs.

This foundational work will position ONPHA to provide clear, evidence-based recommendations for building a stronger, more responsive community housing sector.

“We know that the best solutions for Ontario’s housing challenges come from those doing the work on the ground. This research is a key step toward building a housing system that truly works for our communities.”

— Marlene Coffey, CEO, Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association
